Start your adventure

Three days on Tybee, planned for you.

Point the car east on Highway 80 and let the island do the rest. Here is how to spend a first weekend — and every planning page you'll need along the way.

Day one

Land, climb, eat

Drive out on Highway 80 in the morning, park once at the north end, and climb the Light Station before the stairwell heats up. Spend the afternoon on the quiet north-end sand near the tide pools, then take the shuttle south for peel-and-eat shrimp on Tybrisa Street.

Day two

Water day

Check the tide chart over coffee. Low tide means sandbars and shelling; high tide means real swimming and a rod on the pier. Book the ninety-minute sunset dolphin run out of Lazaretto Creek and bring a jacket for the ride back.

Day three

Slow it down

Biscuits on Butler Avenue, a bike loop through Fort Screven's old batteries, oysters on a creekside deck, and one last walk out to the end of the pier while the pavilion lights come on.
